The drive to Oxford took a while to get there. The brits drive on the left side of the road. The Brits defy the EU mandates by having road signs in miles per hour (and not in kilometers per hour).

No smoking please.  This house is built with a THACHED ROOF. (No,   Margaret Thatcher did not build this one).

New thatched roofing has a lighter color of brown, for a while anyway.

Our tour guide Graham told us to be back on the bus by 2:30 so we can leave. He offered the memory aid, “Its like the kid who went to the dentist and said,
==Tooth Hurtie== :=) : €)

Oxford is not just a university.  It takes up an entire town.  It is not just one school, it is many different specialty universities where a student is enrolled in one of the specialty groups.  Each student is assigned their own counselor/tutor that advisses the student which lectures to attend and what to study to meet the student’s objectives.

Rex bought a law book from Blackwells Legal Bookstore.  It looks real exciting and authoritative.  Rex immediately read the section on how the European Union Law supercedes the local country law with explanitory EU and local law cases used for examples.  It is still a controvercy for many people that there is a supremacy clause that causes EU law to prevail over local law when EU Law occupies a certain subject area of the law.

“X-Marks The Spot”  A couple of famous priests were decapited at this site for the crime of heresy caused by failure to comply with a Queen Mary’s order to reform their churches.  The queen is known as Queen

or better known as

“Bloody Mary”.
No kidding.  Just the facts, mam.

Our guide Graham’s favorite sayng was that he would be right back ” in two shakes of a lambs tail”. 😉

I asked our guide Graham why the hay bales are round here in the UK? He said it it because there is less surface area under the bale that touches the ground so less straw is exposed to moisture and rot.

Then he said they use the hay for feeding the cows but the enviornementalists had a law passed to phase out the practice of rolled round hay bailes. This because they felt the cows would “never get a square meal”. 🙂
